《That's So Asian 開箱亞洲》希望填補這樣的內容空缺，並試圖解構表象，翻轉大家對於亞洲的既有認知。 住在亞洲的我們，就是最適合發聲的我們！【臺灣吧】將突破過去影片的製作規格，首度進攻國際影音串流平臺。
第一季節目預計將探討亞洲的教育、飲食、流行文化、宗教與養生，力圖走進海外市場，面向全球觀眾。目前試播集製作專案已獲文化部「發展國際數位傳播補助」。

▉ 𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 "𝙀𝙓𝘼𝙈 𝙁𝘼𝘾𝙏𝙊𝙍𝙔" 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩'𝙨 𝙎𝙤 𝘼𝙨𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙋𝙞𝙡𝙤𝙩 𝙀𝙥𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙙𝙚
The pilot will explore Asian cram-school culture. Janet Hsieh, Golden Bell Awards itinerant show host, is our pilot narrator!
Why are remedial education and cram schools so prevalent in Asia? Cram schools which are familiar to Asian students are often inconceivable to Westerners – How can one study from 18:00 to 22:00 after school! (Go home and study even more?)
Could the concepts behind cram-school culture and by extension credentialism be part of a greater global phenomenon? What kind of social mechanisms are at play in this race for diplomas from the top schools? What is its significance?
Hoping to present balanced perspectives, the production team invited more than 20 interviewees, including renowned scholar Benson Yeh, YouTuber Waysunman, Teach for Taiwan founder Anting Liu, as well as students and teachers from India, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan, to give their direct perspectives on the topic.
▉ 𝘼𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 “𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩'𝙨 𝙎𝙤 𝘼𝙨𝙞𝙖𝙣”
Even in 2022, there are still people who can't distinguish the difference between Thailand and Taiwan. Globally, existing film and television works are still full of biased imagery and imagination about Asia; Documentary programs focusing on the theme of Asian culture are still few and far between.
“That's So Asian” sets up to fill this content gap, while also trying to deconstruct the surface appearance and subvert everyone's existing perception of Asia. As a group of Asian creators living in Asia, we strongly believe that this makes us uniquely for this task at hand. Taiwan Bar will not only exceed the production value of past documentaries but will also be the first to present this type of content on an international video streaming platform.
The first season of the show will explore themes of education, food culture, pop culture, religion and wellness in Asia, reaching overseas markets and a global audience. The pilot episode of this project has received the Ministry of Culture's "Subsidy for the Development of International Digital Communication."
