Some Hong Kong cabbies pressed on with posing as passengers and reported Uber ride-hailing service cases to police, in a string of so-called “undercover” actions targeting Uber drivers in Hong Kong. Patrick Tam Man-chung, secretary general of the Hong Kong Taxi & Public Light Bus Association, recently revealed to the Post that such “spontaneous actions” had unfolded for at least two weeks, with over a dozen reports already filed to the police. In a video shared by Tam, a driver is told to pull over after a passenger suspects him of illegally carrying passengers for reward.
