Air Force Jet Intercept A Ufo
November 23, 1953, was a stormy night when an Air Force jet vanished over Lake Superior for an unexplained reason. A blip on the radar where none should have been discovered by U.S. Air Defense Command near the U.S.-Canadian border: an unidentified object in restricted air space above Lake Superior, not far from Soo Locks, the most important commercial gateway to the Great Lakes. Two crew members boarded an F-89C Scorpion fighter from neighboring Kinross AFB, Wisconsin, which was part of the Truax Air Force Base, and the aircraft flew off to investigate.
Second Lieutenant Robert Wilson was watching radar, while First Lieutenant Felix Moncla, who had accrued 811 flying hours, took to the pilot's seat. The men's mission to intercept would not bring them back. Donald Keyhoe, a UFO researcher, and former Marine Corps naval aviator who wrote about the event in his 1955 book The Flying Saucer Conspiracy, called it one of the strangest cases on record.

A startled bystander witnessed another enigmatic UFO flying above Britain. It was said that the amazing figure moved over the heavens before disappearing. The man who noticed it claimed it had a domed top, and his picture depicts it floating over Newton Abbot, in Devon. The breathtaking sight comes just one month after unexplained extraterrestrial sounds were detected in Bristol. The Devon resident called his up-close experience with the ship "astonishing."
He described it as an amazing encounter with a flying saucer. He was gazing up at the sky when he became aware of a black object in the distance to the left of him. The closer it came, the bigger it got. He could see a dome on top of the item, which he could plainly identify as a flying saucer. The flying saucer then turned around and headed back in the direction it came from, before vanishing into thin air.
