Not Splitting Things

The plaintiff says he took out a loan for an apartment he rented with his ex-girlfriend. He claims they agreed she would pay him back and split the apartment expenses 50/50. He eventually moved out, and now she won’t pay him back the money he’s owed. As a result, he’s suing her for the money he’s owed. The defendant says they split up because the plaintiff is violent. She claims she doesn’t owe him any money since he used it to pay his personal bills. The defendant is countersuing for rent and car payments.
