It all starts with whatever the opposite of ibuprofen tablets are, The Minions, who jump around time, serving the evilest people they can find like a T-Rex, Dracula, yes I KNOW THEY WERE IN A CAVE DURING WORLD WAR TWO STOP MESSAGING ME ABOUT IT and then Scarlet Overkill in the 60s who wants to become queen by stealing the jewels because that’s how that works, a four year old kid named Gru freezes Scarlett and the Minions start working for him
Seven years later, Gru approaches his dream of becoming the world’s great supervillain by getting kidnapped and depending on the Minions to rescue him. But wait, Gru and the villain get along and team up, but the villain’s friends are villains and blow up his house because reasons. Thanks to a magic rock, they’re able to defeat a bunch of other supervillains, saving the day. I mean- wait, no he’s a BAD GUY. A BAD GUY. Everyone dresses in suits to appreciate real cinema
Years later, Gru’s a real villain now, which he commemorates by… adopting a bunch of orphan girls, you know like how villains do. Gru traps this guy, Vector on the moon and he’s definitely absolutely dead. Later, Gru, his minions and mad scientist friend fart this guy to death. Like I said, real cinema. Gru gets married and I’m left wondering how
Then Gru reconnects with his twin brother who wants Gru to teach him how to be a villain, but Gru’s not a villain anymore, which he proves by teaming up to steal a diamond from some other guy who wants to launch Hollywood into space, I guess to kill everyone as dead as Vector definitely is. They stop him, and Gru’s brother becomes a supervillain and the minions work for him now. Nice full circle ending, I guess? At least they’re not making more.. [What?]
