Reviewing Google's Pixel 7a after one week, with an unboxing, camera test, gaming and early verdict on the battery life. The Google Pixel 7a is one of the best mid-range smartphones right now, boasting similar specs to the flagship Pixel 7 and another pleasing camera experience. It's a solid rival to the Samsung A54, Poco F5 and other phones of 2023 at this price point.

Here in the UK, a Pixel 7a will cost you £449 - a rise vs the older 6a. However, you do get several upgrades for that cash, including Google's fresher Tensor G2 chipset for beefier performance. This smartphone can handle gaming on Genshin Impact etc, although it does still get rather warm at times.

Likewise, the Google Pixel 7a offers a fresh 64MP camera which can capture great looking shots at day and even at night. It's not as strong in low light as the Pixel 7 but it's still commendable for a mid-range phone.

Battery life so far hasn't been good, but seems to be improving after 5/6 days. I'll update on that side of things soon!

And as for software, the Pixel 7a is stuffed with those excellent Google exclusive Android features. Plus, five years of guaranteed security updates.

So are you tempted by this all-new affordable Pixel? Let us know below!
