Look out JHS 3 series, WA is coming for ya
Basic, easy to understand effects designed to sound great but be welcoming to new pedal users. “Simplified controls” probably means basic functionality with no bells and whistles but… sliders? Is that easier?
Still made in the US and really affordable. $100-$130 depending
Chorus, fuzz, reverb, overdrive, delay, distortion, phaser, tremolo

Talk about the logistical workings of shaping an entire rig from scratch. For either home use, recording, gigs, what a board would realistically have to look like, pedal choice is mostly personal preference but most will have the same ingredients. Real amp or sim of some kind. How portable do you want it to be?

NAMM is going down! Cool! 00:09:56
- Abasi Concepts has two new models, but then Tosin Abasi gets an artist model from EBMM? (stab: hoof reaper) 00:15:10
- New double cut shapes from Abasi Concepts. A strat style and a dual HB style.
- Then, as if from nowhere, Ernie Ball Music Man drops the Tosin Abasi artist model.
- Clearly borrows design language from other EBMM guitars, so that’s cool. Looks wild. 7 string drops first, 6 string next year.
TwoNotes ReVolt Analog Amp Sim (stab: moog ring) 00:21:55
- More and more gear blurring the line between modeling and analog! I love it!
- 3-channel preamp with a high voltage 12ax7. 200V!

- Can add a boost to all 3 channels.
- Has an effects loop to insert pedals into as well as a 4CM switch to insert the premp into any amp with an effects loop

- Joe Dart II bass from Ernie Ball Music Man (stab: EQ Bit Commander) 00:24:48

- First 100 are a limited edition. Assuming that means more eventually?
- Ash body, flame maple neck. Two volume knobs. No muss no fuss.
- $2700

Reviews From Last Year! (stab: Keeley Aria) 00:13:18
- Both from 2021 because we never check this crap
- Five stars from Oaties77: I like a lot of guitar and music podcasts and this one is different from the others. It has all of the things I like about most podcasts with news and reviews and stuff but there is a lot more interesting and funny stuff in the banter.
- Five stars from Mattxyzed: If, like me , you love the Guitar Nerds or 60 Cycle hum, you may find this podcast jarring because the hosts appear to actually have some professional level knowledge of how effects work, and what recording music is like. However, don’t let that turn you off because if you slog through all the useful information, you will eventually get to the butt related jokes and other nonsense, and everything will be all right.
Mythos and Novo team up for the Air Lane Drive (stab: Bogner Ecstacy Red) 00:19:23
- Derek got one! Wheeee!
- Dual overdrive of the same circuit but with different voicings
- Simple gain controls. Level controls on are on trim pots inside
- Single transistor topology with hard clipping. Can add a little extra sparkle or get really fuzzy
- Suite 8, the Novo side is medium gain with full bass and top end clarity. Asymmetrical clipping
- Suite 9, the Mythos side is more aggressive with a bass cut and smoother top end. Symmetrical clipping
- $260, I splurged. Sold out. Batch 2 coming later this year.
- The people want us to talk about pedal scalping

- Larger, 3 button version of the space echo replacing the 201
- Has more controls, presets, MIDI, and USB.
- $400
- Line 6 DL4 MKII (stab: Mr Black Supermoon) 00:26:40
- The original DL4 dropped in 1999!
- This is brilliant because it has all the original DL4 sounds as well as the new Helix delay sounds available!
- Many looper people (see Reggie Watts) use the DL4 for their vocal layering, so Line6 included an XLR input on the back! Could use it for a vocal mic, or even for micing up an acoustic. Works with any dynamic mic and has an input gain control
- Micro SD card slot for the looper to pull from
- Expression input which can also be footswitches 4 and 5.
- Still contains the looper, stereo in/out, MIDI in/out, but with twice as many delays and now has SECRET REVERBS
- Looks like the Helix footswitch hardware
- $299. $50 more than the original.
- Pedal Genie 00:38:43

New Boss RE-2 Space Echo leak?? (stab: WA Bellwether) 00:22:36
- We don’t really dig in with pedal leaks on this show, but I so want this to be real.
- The RE-201 Space Echo is one of the famed tape echo units, they sound great. Super cool. Tons of mojo.
- The RE-20 has been out for years. One of those old Boss double wide pedals. Still very cool
- But the RE-2? Put that shit in a regular boss enclosure? Let’s do it.
Pedal Genie 00:29:09
GTRS Guitars (stab: MS Holy Dove) 00:52:38
- S-style guitars with effects by Mooer
- The second tone pot has a push/push that contains effects combos, amp sim, cab sim, etc.
- You can go into a PA with it, straight into headphones, or into a regular amp, or you can turn it off entirely and have a regular guitar
- Runs on a battery that charges over USB-C
- There’s an app to change effects and parameters and simple operation on the guitar itself. Push to change effects, turn the knob to increase the amount of effect.
- Can also get a small four button controller to change effects like a pedal.
- Do we need this? Is this cool? Is the controller thing antithetical to the whole idea?

Big news from Derek!
PRS Silver Sky SE (stab: Tombstone Thirty7FX) 00:18:12
- Confirmed at $849 US!
- This is the one to get, folks
The Maestro Original Collection pedals (stab Dwarfcraft Gears) 00:19:28
- Maestro was the first pedal brand, kinda cool to see them back with the vintage aesthetic
- The lineup includes:
- Fuzz Tone FZ-M (based on the original Fuzz Tone circuit as heard on “Satisfaction” by the stones), Ranger Overdrive, Invader Distortion, Comet Chorus, Discoverer Delay
- They’re all $149, except for the delay which is $159.
- Everything I’ve seen marketing-wise is how GIBSON is reintroducing them. Not sure when they acquired the brand, but they’re pushing gibson hard.
Pedal Genie 00:25:48
- Played the Bearfoot Candy Apple Fuzz demo
- No PG pedal for Derek, but we can demo the Duellist

PRS Silver Sky SE (stab: EQD Hoof Reaper) 00:14:58
- The John Mayer artist model gets the SE treatment
- SE’s are made overseas but set up at the PRS factory prior to shipment to dealers
- Poplar body instead of Alder
- Same pickups as the original
- 2 point trem instead of a 6 point
- 8.5” radius instead of 7.25”, interesting
- Otherwise it’s the same guitar just made overseas. Prices are speculated to be around $850. This is great.

- New perk for Patreon members!
- Topic suggestion from Eric: (stab: EQ Organizer) 00:51:04
- Talk about…..no actually like, challenge people, to view gear as something that matters so much less than how we operate with it
In the grand scheme there’s so much that doesn’t ultimately matter, and as a new gear year resolution, take a step back and evaluate what you have already, and how much something new won’t actually matter and there's no use in getting worked up

- Now made in Mexico and part of the Player series
- Fewer features, but also $800 cheaper
- Apparently these are really taking off
- So with the lower price comes some cost saving measures like a non-rechargeable battery (9V), 3-way selector instead of 5 (fewer sound options), different Piezo system

EPISODE 200 IS HERE, BABY!
HUGE thank you to everyone supporting the show, whether it be from Patreon, casual listeners, dedicated fans, friends of friends - we love you all and owe you a tremendous debt of gratitude for making the show what it is today.
This week we sit down with California based luthier Doug Kauer of Kauer Guitars to talk about guitar building! Many thanks to Doug for joining us to celebrate episode 200.
Unfortunately we lost the audio from Doug part way through the episode, but we'll be sure to have him back another time to discuss the segment we had to cut out. More details about that in the episode.
Lastly, if you are not a Patreon supporter and would like to purchase a Tone Control care package, send us a note and we'll get you sorted out!
--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thetonecontrol/messageYou know the drill. Episode 200 is in TWO WEEKS. Come hang in Discord and listen live. NO PATREON REQUIRED!
- Pedal Genie at the beginning! 00:03:31

Coppersound is here celebrating the 1 year anniversary of the Triplegraph! 00:09:19
- Obviously, whatcha working on?
- The people want to know: will there be a coppersound delay?
- Any upgrades to existing pedals? V2?
- Will you be doing any exclusive colors for shops like CME?
- Is there an expectation to come up with something even crazier than the triplegraph?
- How has the Third Man collab changed the business for them. Do you feel you are better known as a company to non-gearheads now?
- What recent piece of gear has you really excited?
- Can you introduce us all to Jack White?

- Joyo Moist Reverb (Lollygagger Canaglia) 00:16:41
- If I’m being honest, I put this here because of the name.
- Looks like a pretty solid reverb
- 3 sounds, church, plate, and studio
- 32-bit DSP
- No price yet but Joyo is very affordable. I’m guessing under $100 for this.
- Pedal Genie 00:24:43
- Hudson Electronics Broadcast Dual Switch $280 if you can find one
- J.Rockett Audio Designs Monkeyman (discontinued, $130 to $180 used)

- From Timmy S: Is it worth having a computer interface for an instrument to record directly into your music software? Or should one simply have a nice mic and a speaker?
- From J Pain: What gear do I use in a multi-guitar band? If a band member uses a single coil guitar to play said thing then maybe I need to use a humbucker guitar to cover the other frequencies/sound/effects to accompany the single coil. Should I use effects that accompany the other players, etc?

- Derek went to see Ariel Posen and it was killer. Sting: Deepspace Devices Golem 00:18:45
Some new stuff from Coppersound! Sting: Strymon Deco 00:28:08
- Active ABY box $99
- Turns one input into two separate outputs OR two separate inputs to a single output.
- Great for stereo setups, multiple instruments, or even can use as a mute switch.
- Features two independent JFET buffers
- Footswitch washers are color coordinated with their respective output jacks
- Passive ABY Box $55
- Same as above but doesn’t have the buffers
- Dual Tap is back in stock $49
- Tap tempo switch with two outputs to sync up multiple tap tempo equipped devices. No power required!
- Has internal dip switches for “normally closed” and “normally open” so it works with a ton of things.
- Buffer! $69
- Helps with long cable runs and such.
- Has a 9V courtesy power output so it doesn’t cannibalize an output on your power supply. Great!
- Also some flashlights, telegraph stutters, and other ABY boxes available in the small batch and one-offs section. Get on it!
Pedal Genie 00:34:46

- 128 user IR slots with support for mono or stereo
- 144 Boss IRs with 10 Celestion IRs
- 8 guitar amps, 3 bass amps
- Can run 2 IRs at once in mono or stereo!

- Fractal Audio FM9 (Stinger: Strymon Volante) 00:17:24
- Double the processing power of the FM3, but still not as strong as the rack mount Axe FX3
- The FM3 came out last year and has 3 footswitches so it was often compared to the HX Stomp. The FM9 has 9 switches and looks like the one to get if you don’t want/can’t afford the Axe FX3
- So it’s got all the stuff, we don’t need to tell you how great Fractal gear is.
- No built in expression of any kind but of course can receive expression pedals.
- Personally, I think the FM9 is the one you want. It does all the stuff most people need and includes footswitches so you don’t need the rack unit plus a controller to gig with it.
- I think Fractal was losing ground to Helix/Kemper/Headrush when it came to pedalboard designed modelers that could be used in all settings.
- FM3 is $1100, FM9 is $1600, and Axe FX3 MKII is $2300.
- Pedal Genie 00:35:13
- Orange Omec Teleport $139
- Review Reviews (Stinger: Empress Nebulus) 00:58:31
- Listener questions/topics: Stinger: Earth Quaker Data Corruptor 01:07:45
- When does a pedalboard get so big or complicated that it ceases to be useful anymore?
- Collective stress around gigs/concerts with Delta variant growing concerning. Venues requiring proof of vaccination or a negative test.

- Modern D shape neck with a compound radius fingerboard 10-14”
- Satin Sapphire Blue lacquer finish

- Derek’s Helix band rig with IEMs (stab: 1981 DRV)
- Using the sends and returns as inputs and outputs, I’m able to get click track, backing tracks, and a monitor mix in IEMs.
- This allows to send Helix to the PA and lets the sound guy manage levels for monitoring just like with a floor wedge
- Also can apply any blocks on my monitor feed if I want, like EQ, compression, etc.
- DI box recommendations?
- Gamechanger Audio Bigsby Pedal (Coppersound Tribblegraph)
- Partnered with Fender and Bigsby
- Bigsby vibrato pitch bending pedal with Bigsby hardware on the top.
- Can do the subtle bigsby thing, but the DSP allows for more extreme Whammy style sounds too
- Spring loaded hardware can be pitched down or up by pressing on the either side of the spring.

- Thorpy Pulse Doppler ~$375 (CM Bass Drive)
- This is a weird one, but it’s the most exciting thing I’ve seen with regard to Phasers in a while.
- 4 stage phaser/vibrato sounds on board but you can get harmonic trem sounds from it too
- Has a manual control like a flanger, so when the depth is increased, manual sets the frequency range of the sweep
- Essentially two notch filters, but the Dual switch allows you to sync them or arrange them in figure 8 pattern
- You can also invert the phase effect which results in more hollow tones, or switch it to Pulse mode for more trem based things.
- Features a dry blend
- PRS Archon 50 (TC Viscous Vibe)
- Relaunched combo and amp head, this is the high gain offering from PRS
- Combo comes with a Celestion V-Type
- 6CA7 power tubes, ECC83 preamp tubes

- Ships with JJ’s
- Gain structure and EQ have been redesigned, generally more usable and not as gained out all the time.
- Now more affordable, built in Indonesia

Intro Music: "Part of the Room" by Jamie Evans!
- Question from Doug: Justin, how much has your work affected your ability to enjoy just listening to music? (stab: Mesa Throttle Box)
- Pedal Genie
- Lollygagger FX Canaglia $209 for standard, $249 for special
- Lollygagger FX Canaglia $209 for standard, $249 for special
- Gamechanger Audio Light Pedal Reverb 349$ (stab: Walrus Rainbow Machine)
- World’s first analog optical spring reverb tank
- Their claim is that a lot of energy is lost when the source audio reaches the spring tank output. This uses infrared sensors along the length of the spring to detect insanely small movements in the spring tank
- It opens up a wider range of frequencies, harmonics, and overtones that are typically lost in the mechanical reverberation process.
- Orange LEDs for your traditional reverb signal, white LEDs for the optical sensors
- Controls for spring and optical sensors let you blend the two together
- The control knob lets you choose which sets of optical sensors are active along the length of the spring
- Trails on/off switch, footswitch can be set to latching or momentary
- Expression pedal input
- Bunch of modes with effects and stuff.
- Sweep mode is a modulation style that activates the optical sensors in a wave pattern top to bottom.
- Trem mode pulses the optical sensors at the top of the spring which only adds trem to the reverb signal, so you can dial out the dry knob to blend it.
- Reflect mode is is a lo-fi delay that sends the signal back through the reverb.
- Feedback mode sets the reverb to self-oscillation.
- Harmonic mode is somewhat like a shimmer but it’s created in analog.

- EHX Ripped Speaker Fuzz (stab: Wampler Reflection)
- An homage to one of the ways early distorted guitar and bass was mad
- At low settings, it emulates lo-fi distortion like “a razor blade applied to a speaker cone, a loose tube, or a faulty channel on a recording console”
- The “rip” knob is a bias control that sets the amount of clipping at the top and bottom of the wave form.
- The tone knob is a tilt-shift EQ which is flat at noon.
- The higher gain sounds are actually kind of cool!
- $99

- Tell us about the new PCB version. How does it work to translate a circuit design?

--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thetonecontrol/messageThe Triplegraph is a digital octave pedal designed by CopperSound Pedals and Jack White, featuring three proprietary telegraph keys and an integrated auxiliary loop. Utilizing a high-power DSP Blackfin Processor, Triplegraph triggers an octave down with the left key, octave up with the right key, while the middle key activates a killswitch or auxiliary loop.
In KILL mode, the middle key acts as a momentary killswitch, allowing the player to remove their dry signal and attain a fully wet octave up and/or down when used in conjunction with the octave keys.
In AUXILIARY mode, the player can connect one or more of their favorite effects in parallel with the octaves via the send/return jacks, and trigger them in momentary bursts. The high and low octaves can be triggered in parallel with the dry signal when the octave keys are pressed independently.
The octaves themselves track seamlessly with zero latency and can be triggered in latching or momentary modes, using our “Loctave” toggle switches. The telegraph keys themselves are composed of custom stainless steel and aluminum components, making them indestructible and exceedingly durable for both hand and foot operation. Over four years in the making, the collaborative result is an innovative, state of the art clean-tracking octave pedal, capable of standing its own against industry standards.
Limited Edition and Standard Edition Bundles
There are two special bundles available for Triplegraph: The Limited Edition model comes with an exclusive Yellow finish, black and white print, a custom steel machined serial badge plate, a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Jack himself, and a custom-designed book, all elegantly packed in a special edition box. There are only 100 Limited Edition units available.
All of the Standard Editions are finished in a sharp, matte black finish with yellow and white print, packed in a standard box. Both models come with a custom-designed 130+ page book that documents the entire process; spanning over four years of prototyping, engineering, building, road testing, and stories from this exciting collaboration, all designed and photographed by CopperSound.

Ernie Ball Music Man Dustin Kensrue Stingray RS (stab: Bogner Oxford)
- Modified version of the Stingray RS, such as a stacked volume/tone pot and a relocated selector switch
- HS configuration, “hot vintage” pickups. Middle of the road rock and roll
- Mahogany body, maple neck, 22 stainless steel frets, satin finish, locking tuners. 25.5” scale.
- Push/push button on the pickguard toggles between normal guitar operation and bypassing the controls to a stereo cable.

- Dustin uses Helix live and this allows him to create patches that also control the pickup selection on his guitar. One into the guitar input, the other into the FX loop return.
- Expression can blend between the two pickups, or you can use a block on/off to switch
- $2600

- Coppersound Broadway and Strategy (Red Witch Factotum)
- Thanks to Alex and Coppersound pedals for sending us some pedals to try!
- Strategy Analog Preamp and Boost (featured on Tone of the Week on 7/7!)
- Based on a hi-fi grade op-amp with controls for volume and tone.
- Very musically tuned tone control. Lots of range on the volume. Great for hitting the front of your amp.
- Broadway Treble Booster and Germanium Preamp
- Inspired by the original Rangemaster circuit
- Three way pickup selector emulates the pickup positions on a tele
- Internal trim pot for compression and dynamics
- $249 each
- Both of these can be customized to match YOUR strat or tele.
- Walrus Audio Slo and Fathom combo (DBA Ghost Delay)
- Slo is a multi-texture reverb
- Has cool things like a sub octave in the echo, an auto swell mode, dream mode which has a latching mode
- Really powerful filter controls, a sustain switch, and an X knob that changes its use based on what setting you’re on.
- Fathom is a multi-function reverb with 4 different reverb algorithms
- Hall, plate, lo-fi, and sonar
- Lo-fi is a filtered reverb with an AM radio sound, or really lush chorus-y/tape sounds
- Sonar has both a low and high octave included. The X knob blends the high octave in.
- Now both of these are in one enclosure
- In/Out for each pedal? Like that weird distortion from last week. BUT, this allows you to insert other pedals between the two reverbs. When not in use, it’s still one input and one output. SMART.
- $350

- Steve currently makes 2 pedals: the T-120 Videotape Echo and the 112+ Drive Channel
- T-120
- Inspired by the garbled audio that comes from cruddy, worn out VHS tapes.
- It sounds extremely good. Like, this is more than just a modulated delay.
- Controls for time, echo, intensity, depth, speed, and tape quality
- It’s available in a standard and a deluxe version. Deluxe has soft switching, echo trails, full wet to full dry mix, self oscillation switch, stereo out via TRS
- Inspired by the garbled audio that comes from cruddy, worn out VHS tapes.
- 112+ Drive Channel
- Schecter guitars wanted to trade him a guitar of his choice for some pedals so he designed an overdrive pedal for the trade
- Internal chargepump is boosting it up to 34V!
- Features a JFET preamp, a voice control that sets how much bass is passed through to the drive section.
- Drive section is big a wide, can get clippy and fuzzy. Signal is reamplified after the drive then goes to 3band active EQ (boost/cut)
- Sounds really nice. Can get splattery, but also has a nice crisp jangle to it.

The anniversary edition is modded by Robert Keely!
“Max-gain” knob for increased gain, output, and low end response.
400 units worldwide, the first 40 of which will be signed by Robert Keely
Walrus Audio Lillian 199$
Amp and IR Cab in a pedal
Three amps: Fender Deluxe Reverb, Vox AC30, Marshall Plexi Superlead
9 included cabinets, option to load your own IRs, headphone output on the front makes for easy home use.
This is smart because it moves amp and cab modeling into a pedal size
$400, but it’s probably easier to get a grip on than something like an HX stomp for a lot of people

At home I’m now using the HX Stomp, but I also have a small pedalboard with a Smallsound/Bigsound Mini, MIJ BF-2 Flanger, EHX Memory Toy, and HOF mini, into either the HX or an Orange micro-terror (just a practice amp mostly).

- DIRT PEDALS! But this stuff stands out
- Model FET https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/nad-sunn-model-t.1885737/
- Based on the Sunn Model T preamp
- Controls for bass, mid, treble, matser, normal, and brite (sic)
- Designed to have pedals stacked into it, much like the old Model T amps
- Sounds big, wooly, kinda fuzzy, but also crisp and clear.
- Longsword
- Op-amp based drive with a huge range of distortion
- low/hi sets the James/Baxandal tone stack
- Shift toggle selects the frequency that the Mid knob controls
- Lots of EQ controls… like Metal Zone level of control. (this is NOT a metal zone, but it’s got a TON of EQ control like the MZ)
- Interview with John Snyder up on the website!
- VERY detailed interview with lots of insight on his design process, gear he uses, and upcoming projects.
- Dunlop Tortex White Jazz III picks (stab: Sea Foam)
- Derek sold him amp! Kind of…
- HX Stomp (stab: OE Revival)
- Digitech drop update. Standard guitar in an Eb band. (stab: Mathews The Architect)
- Righteous Tele update (Stab: 805)
- Gibson update (stab: JHS Unicorn)
- They released a statement FINALLY. They acknowledged that this is something they have to do but their tone was all wrong. Too little too late, and the actual statement still didn’t soften things much.
- Apparently they have threatened dealers with legal action unless they stop selling Dean guitars, alleges Dean.
- Earthquaker Devices Plumes (stab: WA Luminary)
- It’s a tube screamer with three clipping modes. Like a super baby Palisades.
- Symmetrical LED clipping, OpAmp distortion, Asymmetrical silicon diode clipping
- Level, tone, and gain controls.
- Relay based true bypass with momentary option.
- The real killer feature is that it’s $99.
- TS Mini is $79, TS9 is $99, TS808 is $179. Boutique pedal company getting in at those low prices. Cool!
- Discussion topic idea from fan-of-the-show Eric Giribaldi (stab: WA Plainsman)
- “What do you do when you reach a crossroads with your equipment?”
- As in, coming to terms with not needing 11 overdrive pedals, needs vs. wants.
- Guitarists are weird people. We want all the latest cool tech and big rigs, but also want the simplicity of grab-and-go, maybe some pedals, and an amp.
- Downsizing your set up. When is it time to sell?
Ernie Ball VP Jr. (stab: Chicka-wahh)
- I asked them when this sucker would be out and they said winter 2019.
- Gibson’s “Play Authentic” marketing results in them suing Dean (stab: Bogner Wessex)
- Basically making an example of them
- Gibson posted this video, which they later removed. Isn’t Mark Agnesi just the worst?
- They’re claiming that any copy of one of their design styles or trademarks is “a counterfeit gibson guitar”. Which I guess they’re saying is what Dean is doing?
- “To the manufactureres out there, we want you to know that you’ve been warned.”
- “This isn’t about us trying to be bullies, or trying to stifle the boutique marketplace. This is about protecting our legacy”, except you’re also being bullies!
- Watch out, literally everyone else.
- They added a counterfeit submission form to their website so you can blow the whistle on anyone you think is infringing on Gibson’s trademarks… So, since they’re going after Dean, I guess this means anyone is eligible.
- New Music from Two Cheers: Future Constellations
- Fender Vintera Series (stab: WA Mayflower)
- Overhauling the MIM line! All floating around $900-1000 bucks. GREAT.
- Big era years: 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, each available with a “Vintage” or “modified” option
- Vintage is pretty close to period correct, Modified is more like “inspired by” but with modern appointments (flatter radius, S1 switching, etc)
- Some highlights:
- 60’s tele with a Bigsby
- 60’s Jazzmatser with matching headstock
- 60’s Jaguar HH
- Really rad new colors on a bunch of these: white blonde, natural, sienna sunburst, Firemist gold on a jazz bass looks HOT.
- Pedal Genie
- Digitech Drop demoed with Metal Zone.
- Daredevil Fearless Distortion
- Podcast suggestion: Hit Parade (stab: Sea Foam)
- New Guitar Day: Fender Special Edition Custom FMT Telecaster (stab: WA Descent)
- Derek got it on scratch and dent at the local guitar shop! It’s awesome!
- Relish Guitars - https://relish.swiss/guitars/ (stab: Seymour Duncan 805)
- If Elon Musk started making guitars, this would be it.
- These are extremely expensive but super futuristic guitars.
- Aluminum core, with a magnetic back so you can get inside the guitar in like 2 seconds
- Pickups just pull out of the back, completely hot-swappable
- 17 pickup positions via a touch pad slider
- Piezo pickup inside with a midrange boost on a push/pull, mono/stereo output jack toggle.
- Details. Models.

- Wetter Box by The Gig Rig https://www.thegigrig.com/wetterbox (stab: Wampler Reflection)
- The Gig Rig makes that G2 switcher thing that is bananapants crazy
- Wetter Box allows you to blend your effects in parallel in real time.
- Blend any effect with your direct signal, or blend 2 effects together
- Blend controllable via expression pedal! WHAT?!
- Stereo via TRS, phase flip on loop B, independent gain controls on each loop, internal voltage doubling, internally isolated power, true or buffered bypass,
- 2 modes: Blend will cross fade from A to B, and Mix will add B to A.
- ~$240 as of 5/24 (exchange rate
- Righteous Tele update (stab: Red Witch Factotum)
- Instagram questions (stab: Stone Deaf Warp Drive)
- How many drives is too many?
- Channel bound fingerboards, yes or no? From Alex at coppersound
- Humbucker or single coil? From Ryan
- Played a ton of gigs recently, two of which with a band called Sleepspirit. They’re using Kemper rigs! Let’s talk about that. (Stab: Organizer)
- Another band was using an electric 12 string like a fucking madman!
- Pedal Genie
- JHS Kodiak Trem $200
- Spiral Electric FX - thanks Righteous Ryan! Interview up on the website! (stab: TC Viscous Vibe)
- Owned and hand built by Tom Cram who is the guy that brought Digitech/DOD back from the dead. He had major work on the Obscura, Polara, DOD 250, etc
- Currently makes two pedals: Yellow spiral and black spiral
- Yellow Spiral
- Mostly lives in overdrive land and dips into fuzz
- It’s kind of fuzzy and has some natural octaving by the sounds of it.
- LED or Silicon diodes
- Black Spiral
- Much fuzzier than the Yellow but can also be more of a straightforward rock tone
- Based on the Meastro FZ1-S, an early version of which later became the DOD Carcosa Fuzz
- Works best with a crunchy amp channel.
- Controls for gain, bias, detail, and output. Toggle switch for clipping options.
- J forgot something (stab: Earthquaker Rainbow machine)
- Pick 5 pedals from one builder, what 5? (Stab: PitchGrinder)
- Fractal Audio FM3 (Stab: SG Electroman)

- Gibson 2019 “Original Collection” (stab: Apollo Phaser)
- New “original collection” kind of reminds me of the Fender American Vintage line
- All full-weight, hand wired controls, no electronics or coil taps or anything.
- Also looks like they’ve done away with the whole “alternate finishes” thing and how have a few options for each model
- Les Paul: 50’s Standard (choice of P90 or HBs), 60’s Standard, Les Paul Special, Les Paul Jr.
- SG: 61 Maestro Vibrola, 61 Sideways vibrola, 61 standard, SG special, SG Jr
- Firebird, V, Explorer, Thunderbird, and SG bass.
- Prices seem okay. Very much streamlined.
- BEER OR GEAR?!?!?! (stab: Mr Black Dark Star Reverb)
- (Special note: if you’re bored by this segment skip to 18:55 when we wrap it up)
- Richter Double Guitar Strap (stab: MH Colossus Fuzz)
- Matt Heafy of Trivium has released a strap that goes over both shoulders
- Ergonomics are important for career musicians, especially with heavy guitars
- However, is there anything dorkier than this?
- Kentucky Hot Brown pedalboards (from Righteous Ryan!) (stab: WA Descent)
- Husband and wife team out of Louisville KY
- Really nice wood pedalboards. Total custom options available
- Ryan did a Q&A with the owners which will be featured on our blog. They talk about the design process, where they source the wood, and new projects. http://tonecontrolshow.com/post/184373897669/qa-with-kentucky-hot-brown-pedalboards

Alessandro Cortini, of Nine Inch Nails fame, demos one of Andrew's pedals on That Pedal Show (Will provide link).
