I gave in to my intrusive thoughts and tripped a child on purpose
So this happened last saturday. My SO and I had nothing to do and decided in the last minute to see Wreck-it-Ralph at the movies. It was at 9 PM, subtitled (the dubbed screenings are earlier during the day), and with plenty of space in the theatre as only about 10 out of 200 seats were booked. Perfect!
We went in to get seated and I realised the seats surrounding those we booked were occupied by young children (6-7 years of age maybe). I really didn't feel like having popcorn thrown down my neck and having the soundtrack ruined by a chorous of loud chewing noises so we moved a few seats away as the movie started.
We were able to enjoy the movie uninterrupted until the last 20 minutes or so. One of the kids (presumably bored and high in sugar) started sprinting like a wild rabbit all around the theatre and through the rows of seats while trying to gain the attention from his company (mother or older sister) who shushed him, chased him some and told him to get back in his seat, to no avail.
He made dramatic noises and bounced around and in general just being disrespectful to both his mom/sister (who eventually gave up chasing him, which made him act even more dramatic) as well as the rest of the theatre. I wasn't mad as the movie was almost over, just a tiny bit annoyed.
As the movie had finished we were the last one to leave the theatre, and as we were walking down the corridor the same kid comes sprinting in full speed back and forth, almost crashing into us. Whenever I'm annoyed by running kids I feel the urge to see what would happen if I tripped them. Just as that thought popped into my head my shoe nudged it's way slightly to the left just as he came running again, which sent him flying in full speed.
He landed with a thump, looked up and gave me this terrifying face and let the most demonic screech I've ever heard. Not the "oh no I'm hurt"-kind of screech but more of a "I'll rip your intestines out with my bare teeth and use them as a noose to end your l1fe"-kind of screech. His mother/sister came rushing and dusted him off as we continued walking off.
I didn't really know what to expect to feel at that moment but it was kind of satisfying knowing what it feels like to give in for the urge, and that nobody will believe him if he said I tripped him (SO didn't notice I did it)
I'm an a%$hole, yes, but the kid had it coming for him (and no he didn't hurt himself, it was a soft floor).

[FR] Finally asked out the hb7 who works in the shop next to mine
Hb7 works in the shop next to my own place of employment, I know that she works 4 days a week based on when her car is in the car park but Ive only seen this girl a handful of times. Never had a chance to talk to her in 6 months since ive been here but i know she's reasonably hot, and takes her lunch break at the same time as me.
This morning when I was in the car park she happened to walk out from her car and I said hey as we made eye contact, she said hows it going and I said pretty good. Then she went inside. Zzzzz…
I went into my shop, turned on the radio, and instantly got reminded that today is Valentines day. S^&t! I missed a perfect chance to ask her to get lunch with me, and now I probably wont see her again today. Damn.. For a couple of hours I was debating in my mind whether I should just walk over and ask her, because hey its Valentines day what a great excuse, but I knew I would p#$%y out and not do it, because it might seem weird.
But then a miracle happened. My boss told me that the girl next door needed to borrow one of our pallets, and that I should pick out a s%^&*y one we dont need and give it to her. Here's my chance!
I moved a pallet out back and walked over to their rear entrance. Called out "Hello?" And she appeared. As she walked over I upgraded her to an hb8 because her face and eyes were nicer than I thought. I said hey and introduced myself and showed her where she could get the pallet from.
That's when I had to do it. I havent gone out and practiced heaps of approaches like some guys so I still had a few butterflies. The conversation went like this:
"The radio reminded me that its V day today, and it's nearly 1 oclock, do you wanna get lunch?"
"Ohh nah I brought mine to work"
"So did I, we could still go somewhere for fresh air"
"Im kind of already on my lunch break"
"Alright no worries, have a good day"
"Yeah"
There was no point insisting because I didnt wanna be desperate. Its a little disappointing that her automatic reaction was to say no, and not even enquire a little bit. It seems like a bad habit and I feel like she could work harder on that.
I went back into my shop feeling pretty pumped that at least I took my shot. Then I heard some woman let out a big cackle of laughter through the wall. I know exactly what that was about.. what a bitch! :P Im sure anyway that the girl will be wondering all day about what could have happened if she said yes, so it's her loss really.
Now im glad I dont have to wonder any more and I look forward to being cheeky in the future if we cross paths again I can just be like "Oi! Lunch?" While winking and pointing finger guns at her. She knows what I want and idgaf any more because the rejection has already happened.
TLDR: Got rejected, wasn't so bad. More enthusiasm gained towards asking girls out in the future.

Every year in December a group of my friends book a cottage out in the country for a week or so to spend some time together taking part in some very wholesome activities - walks, cooking, and lots of reading.
I've been every time since it started about three or four years ago.

having a couple weeks later. We kept chatting. We slipped out to look at the stars. The mood seemed right. I put my hand on her back.
Well, I knew straight away that the mood was not right. (When you make a mistake like that, you know straight away.) She froze up and then said "well, I'm going to bed now." OK, I think, I guess I misread that. Ho hum. She leaves the next morning (she was leaving anyway) and uninvites me from her party by text with a completely phony-sounding excuse. I would slightly prefer her to give me the real reason, but OK, whatever. I assume that's the end of it.
This year, I don't receive an invite to the gathering. Unsure whether
I've deliberately not been invited or it was an accident (this happens a lot when you're not on Facebook), I reach out to ask the guy who organises it.
This is the reply I get: "Hey. The reason I haven't sent over an
invitation is because last time you made an advance on [the girl] and touched her in a way that she wasnt comfortable with. I really want to make an environment at [the event] where that isn't present. I'm sure you didn't mean it to be like that but I hope you understand."
Now, this strikes me as kinda bulls%^t. But if I'm not wanted there
then I'm not about to beg to be allowed to come - begging is not a
good look. (I would like to discuss it, but more as a point of
principle.) So I just thanked him for giving me the real reason, said
that I'd be interested to discuss it when I see him, and wished him
the best.
But I admit that I'm somewhat hurt by this. To be excluded from one of the highlight social events of my year because of one bit of
miscalibration stings.
I'd like to know whether this came from her. What level of discomfort she expressed that I had caused her. Whether she knows that this is the result, and whether she's happy about it. Whether he excluded me to protect this particular woman, or whether he is looking out for women as a whole.
TL;DR I touched a woman on the back when she and I stayed up late drinking once and got excluded from a major social event because of it.

I'm a man and I just realized I was r%^ed.
It's 4 am. I just woke from a dream that I was upset about my ex even though we broke up 7 years ago. I still sometimes get angry because she was physically abusive. Anyways, in the dream, I talked to my mom about it, and she told me the reason I was upset was because Diana was r#$ing me. And I woke up so quickly because then it clicked.
She used to hit me most if I didn't have s#x with her. She would cry, yell at me, and hit me until my "no" became a "yes." And it happened all the time. I've told people it was an abusive relationship before, I just never connected the dots. What she did was r*pe. And I think if I were a woman, I would have connected the dots sooner because someone would have picked up on it right away. But most people don't think of a man being r@^ed and might be more dismissive of subtler things.
But it's true. I'm lying in bed next to my wife and I'm saying it here, and I'm saying it out loud: I was r*&%d.

I was riding a ferry here in Washington state and had some time to kill. Decided to get in some reps approaching girls, playfully chatting and asking for phone numbers if things were vibing. I saw a girl sitting by herself, dressed quite &*^y, looking like she could be 25 or so. I sat down on the same bench as her with probably a 5-foot gap between us. She was on her laptop, so I opened with a question about the quality of the WiFi on the ferry. The way she responded gave me the impression she might be open to chatting.
We got to talking, and it turned out she is an undergrad within the same department at the university I just graduated from. I shared some things about my masters and my performing in the talent show at the university, intended to convey some status to her and maybe raise her interest in me. It seemed to work, and we kept talking.
The dialogue was two-sided, in other words we were both asking each other questions. At one point I left a long pause in the conversation, an opportunity when either of us could’ve ended the conversation if we’d wanted to...like, “well, I better get going” or whatever.
After about 5 minutes, the ferry was coming into dock. I suggested we exchange contact info and maybe meet up for a drink near the university sometime. She agreed, throwing in the line “you’re not an axe murderer are you?”, as she typed her first name and last name into my phone.
Later that day, I decided to see if I could learn anything useful about her from her social media before contacting her to ask her out, to inform my decision on whether it’d be worthwhile pursuing a date with her. Her name was very unique, so I figured if she used that name on social media she’d be easy to find. I was right.
I found her Twitter (discovered she tweets a ton) and came across a very recent tweet that said:
“This white mans on the ferry that swoooped in hella intense to ask for my number while I was doing homework and kept trying to talk to me was the true embodiment of entitlement”.
Whoa. Huh? This was unsettling to read. Had I been missing signs that she was seriously bothered by my presence with her? I don’t think so. Why did she give me her real phone number and her full name if she viewed me as a hella intense white man who embodies entitlement?
I can handle the bizarre reaction on her part and laugh it off and be fine never contacting her. It’s confusing and concerning, though, to experience something like that. Imagine if I had not seen her tweet, and I assumed she was normal and of sound mind, and I pursued a date with her. That girl could’ve ended up being serious trouble for me. I pity that guy who didn’t get that preview of her disturbedness in time to avoid wasting any energy on her.
To top it off, several days later, she texts me out of the blue, with a question about whether I’d taken a class with a certain professor at the university. I think it’s safe to conclude that her text to me meant she was interested in seeing me for a date — or, perhaps more likely, she had no interest in a date with me but was looking to instigate an exchange in which I would ask her out. Now of course, knowing what I know about sick-in-the-head people - which I have learned the hard way - my course of action was a no-brainer. Despite her being a young, decently ^&$y girl, I would not be responding to her text.

It has taken me some time to decide to write this review for various reasons, but I have ultimately decided to because if I was a potential student (especially a young woman) I would want to know this.
I began taking bachata lessons at about a year and a half ago and had a wonderful experience with a great instructor (redacted) and enjoyed meeting and connecting with other classmates.
However, about 6 months ago it was revealed that one of the main instructors (redacted), was pursuing romantic relationships with various students, all young women, and all within a short time frame or overlapping. I am one of the women that experienced this. For me, it began when I took a private lesson from him (a new student and beginner) and was then offered free training by him to become his new dance partner. Now looking back, I feel that he used his status of being an instructor to mislead me in his intent, which quickly turned into pursing an intimate relationship. The other girls that I am aware of have had various experiences, but all seem to have the same theme of being pursued by this instructor.
, the owner of the studio, was informed about this by a few of the young women, including myself. I was told that a contract was put in place which would require a student and instructor to disclose if they were in an intimate relationship. However, I strongly believe that the overarching problem of an instructor repeatedly targeting students for personal relationships was not addressed. To my knowledge, there were no further repercussions or actions taken, and [redacted] continues to teach there today.
I stopped taking classes due to this experience and the disappointment of a business owner not taking further action on an issue I would deem as alarming.
Overall, I really enjoyed the classes, instructors, and the community of dancers at this studio, however, I think that this is important for future students (and possibly current ones) to be aware of.

On a throwaway just because some people know I reddit. I’m just really happy and I gotta rant about it. I guess I just didn’t expect them to be as cool about it as they were and it took me by surprise.
Every now and then we get together to play ultimate frisbee at midnight, it’s kinda a tradition. Well, this time, there was a guy there that everyone knew but he wasn’t invited. He just showed up. He’s known for being a bit of an ass, but we decided to play with him anyways. I don’t really know him personally, he’s been at a few events I’ve gone to but really that’s it. However, most of my guy friends have known him for years.
Anyways, I was the only girl at the game, as is usually the case whenever I hang out with them. Usually, my guy friends don’t really even notice. I’ve never felt weird being the only girl around them. This guy, however, took every opportunity he could to point it out. He guarded me the whole game (he really didn’t have to, I suck at frisbee) and was just messing with me the whole time. He’d tease me and call me names (which is kinda normal for this friend group so I laughed it off, but I wasn’t close to him and he took it to a whole new level. He WOULD NOT stop commenting on anything I did or said.)
A little bit into the game, he “fell” on me and grabbed my breast. I was too shocked to say anything at first, and I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Then it happened 2 more times. He would say things like “Oh boy, did I grab you there? Whoops, my bad, oh oops there I go again.” I shoved him off of me and sat out for a bit. I was fuming. I was kind of scared to bring it up to my friends, because like I said, they’ve never really pointed out that I was the only girl in the group. I really didn’t want to bring attention to that and make it awkward.
Eventually when a few other guys sat down to take a break, I brought it up. They were shocked. They said that he’s done creepy things in the past, but that was the last straw. Everyone went up to him and told him to go home. He tried to say things like “I was just joking, can’t you take a joke?” They all told him that jokes like that aren’t funny and that he needed to leave.
I felt bad about it at first because they’ve known him longer than they’ve known me, but they all told me they didn’t want him around if he was going to act like that. They assured me that he wasn’t going to be invited to any more of their events or anything. I guess I just really didn’t expect them to stand up for me, or I thought I would make things awkward by bringing it up but they really surprised me in the best way. I’m glad they’re my friends.

The other night me and my girlfriend were getting frisky. She starts giving me a ... I really like s, who doesn't? A couple minutes in she goes "do you want to have ?" And I say "I'm really enjoying this " so she keeps going. Another couple minutes in she goes "are you sure you would rather do this than have " and I say "I'm enjoying this and it feels great, but we can if you want". She says "I don't mind" and keeps going.
Another couple minutes in she says "I feel like I want to have but you want a " and I say "I think you're right" and she keeps going. I say "are you sure you want to do this?" And she says "I don't mind" and keeps going. We finish, start cuddling, and she says to me "I feel a bit guilty that I don't give you many because you eat me out so often".
Don't get me wrong - I love eating her out. I love hearing her moan, and making her feel good. I don't do it because I want something. I do it because I enjoy doing it. But I don't get a lot of in return. Maybe a 1:8 kind of ratio. I don't expect them. But I like them.
So I said "it would be nice if it happened more often".
She got really upset with me. The next day (today) we went out to a dinner and afterwards she started tearing up and telling me that she was angry with me, that it was awful that I'd say something like that. That it was really rude of me. She told me that if were that important to me that I should go back to one of my " face ex girlfriends". She said I was pressuring her because she doesn't like giving (she had never told me that before, how was I meant to know?) and it was awful that I made her keep going last night even though I could tell she wasn't into it (I gave her multiple chances to say she wanted to stop)
I told her that I felt like we should be able to talk and discuss things like that rather than get mad and have it turn into an argument. I said I didn't think it would upset her because if she said the equivalent to me ("you don't eat me out often enough") I'd take it as constructive feedback and do it more often, or just tell her I didn't want to instead of getting angry.
She ended up telling me that if I expect to get in return for eating her out (which I've never said) then she doesn't want me to ever eat her out again. She also told me that she decided she's only going to do it when she feels like it and not when I want it.
Did I handle this poorly? Should I not have said that? Should I have done anything differently? I'm a little upset at the outcome but I understand and respect it. I'm open to any feedback about the situation or any similar experiences.

I have been with my girlfriend for the last 1.5 years and a few weeks ago I opened her old laptop to find a throwaway email account which she has been using to communicate with this older guy.
Explicit photos were shared and there was a brief video of them having s#x. From what I can tell this seems to have started 2 months ago.
I was devastated and heart broken. I still can't believe how she could look me in the eye every day and tell me she loves me while f&%king this other guy. Luckily for me the next day I had to go out of town for a week long work commitment. I left without confronting her so she still doesn't know I know.
I spent the majority of the first day or if town crying and essentially mourning my relationship. I called my close friend and talked all night. Strangely after that I was completely okay and overnight I lost all the love I had for her. Even now when she calls me to check up, I am constantly annoyed and try to find ways to end the conversation. She know something is up but I just blamed it on my work. Also I am pretty sure she is using my absence to have a good time with her cheating partner.
I am currently extending my stay by another week to figure out things.
Anyway I was thinking
yesterday and I feel like just ghosting her. She moved in with me last month and my lease will be up next month. I could just pay the landlord the rent for the next month (I have a well paying job and it won't incur any major loss) and move without telling her. My company has a branch in New York City and I could request to move there which is totally doable.
Except her and the job there was nothing for me in the current City I live in anyway. We don't have any major shared finances and the rest of the details like furniture etc are minor things that I could ask a local friend to sell it for me for a cut of the profit.
The more I think about this I am convinced I could easily do it. I don't know how she'll feel, I mean if she was cheating on me I don't think she cared much about me in the first place. What do you guys think? Is it too harsh?

A guy liked me, and all I did was treat him like garbage
This was early in HS, and I’m in college now, but I still feel terrible about it.
Some background: during most of my childhood I was bullied pretty incessantly. It got so bad that I would intentionally make myself sick to avoid school. So the idea that anyone would actually like me, wasn’t something I considered very seriously.
Anyway, first year of HS a guy is showing interest in me, and being really nice and flirty and all that. But I didn’t recognize that was what it was; I thought he was making fun of me, I thought he was joking and would eventually humiliate me in front of his friends if I showed any interest (a similar thing actually happened in middle school, so I really thought this was the same “game”). And so I treated him badly. REALLY BADLY.
I’d have glib and insulting comebacks to whatever he threw at me, which would then make the other people around us laugh at him. When he’d ask if I wanted to be partners with him on a group assignment, I’d laugh at him, ask why I’d ever want to work with someone like him. I’d humiliate him publicly whenever he showed me any kindness.
Eventually, after a particularly mean comment, he left me alone. He never said anything nasty to me, just stopped trying to talk to me. And I felt so smug, like I’d beaten him at his own game or something. And so when I finally fell into a friend group, I kept talking trash about him, talking about how ‘desperate’ and ‘pathetic’ he was.
Maybe a year or two after this, my closest friend remarked that she never understood why I was so cruel to him, and so I told her that I didn’t like him mocking me, pretending to like me. She set me straight on the matter, and after confirming with some other people, I realized how awful I had been. I’ve tried many times through the years to apologize. Sent him a couple messages through Facebook and such, and I know he saw them, but he’s never said anything back. What’s really terrible, is that I actually had a crush on him in HS, which is why I got so mad that he was always ‘faking me out’, and got so vicious about it. I wish I could make it right.

Edit: this got more attention than I expected. As a note, this all happened more than 6 years ago. I was 15, and a total bitch, but I have changed a lot. Doesn’t excuse anything I did back then obviously.

I don't think I love my husband any more because of his depression
I feel like there is a bit of back story to our lives to bare with us. I really need to get this out and I don't want to admit this to my friends or family until I decide if I want a divorce or not.
We (30yo m&f) have been together for 6ish years and married for 1.5 years. Shortly after our wedding he started suffering from depression varying in degrees. Sometimes not that bad but other times can't get out of bed bad. We both come from abusive and messed up childhoods. We have both gone through depressions before but only I've ever seen a counselor to deal with / work through my childhood trauma. He has benefits to go but has never agreed to go. He was self medicating with alcohol and became alcohol dependent. With the help of AA he is now sober, though he has had slip ups over the years.
So for the last few months his depression has been really bad. I've given him the counselor information and it is well covered by our benefits but I can't MAKE him go. Our sex life is non existent because neither of us feel very intimate with each other right now. He is depressed and that means he isn't pulling his weight when it comes to chores and responsibilities. I am also working full time and in university part time so having to take on his duties is driving me into the ground physically and mentally.
My husband broke down last night and said he was having suicidal thoughts. I dialed our local suicide line and put him on the phone. He was sobbing and talking to them and I just didn't feel anything. That was when I realized I didn't love him anymore.
I feel like a shitty person when thinking about leaving. I did love him immensely but it feels like that person I loved is already dead and I'm just stuck with this useless guy in his body. I'm struggling with coming to terms with if he might come back or if I should leave, and guilt over thinking I COULD leave.
