What is your dream? I carried the dream of living abroad for well over a decade. I visited a new country each year, always wondering if it might be my place. I thought it would be my retirement life. It turned out the time was now. I don't have all the money. I haven't figured everything out. All the boxes are not checked. I have sacrificed. And my dream is now my reality.

What are you feeding?
What we feed gets bigger. That applies to the conditioned voice of self-doubt, self-criticism, self-hate, fear...you get the idea. The good news is that we are not our conditioned thoughts. We can notice them, and if they feed the imagined negative version of us or life, we can shift our attention to starve and shrink them. This frees us up to feed the voice of compassion, love, and acceptance. We can bring ourselves back to the life that is happening right now, where everything is as it's meant to be, and there is nothing wrong with us and nothing wrong with life.

What are you afraid of?
Every human experiences fear. Fear is a powerful and convincing emotional experience. When you are afraid of the dark, light can chase away the demons. But if there is nothing to fear in the light, is there anything to fear in the dark? Fear shouts (and sometimes whispers) its self-importance and demands that attention be paid and that it be heard above all else. It feels VERY REAL. But fear's arrival indicates an investigation is in order. What you find may surprise you!

Encore The Idealized Image
We learn early in life that we need to live up to and perform to certain standards in order to be considered smart, successful, attractive and valuable. Many of us spend much of our lives building and serving what feels like ourselves, but is actually our image. Our idealized image. And with the sharing of our lives online, the idealized image has become more and more curated. We browse social media platforms, taking in these storybook creations and wonder why we don’t measure up, or alternately, are relieved to feel superior if only for a moment. But, what happens when the idealized image is deconstructed and abandoned and the real self is fed, watered, nurtured, accepted and let loose into the world?!? Honesty, vulnerability, hijinks, hilarity, trust, connection, friendship…the possibilities are endless. No curating needed. Love yourself. Free yourself. Be yourself.

When you dream of a different life, a new career, moving to another country, or chasing a dream it steps in to tell you that it is simply too difficult, impractical and that you should just keep your head down and stay the course. It doesn’t want you to get any crazy ideas about accepting yourself unconditionally because the power it wields will be wrested away from it and once that happens, the possibilities are endless…for YOU, not for IT. Join me for the launch of GTO Freedom for Humans with my very special guest, Roland Williams: friend, colleague, addiction specialist and all-around wonderful human. We will talk about the mission of the show, to spread the word about the transformational healing power of unconditional self-love. Growing up in a hypermasculine culture can result in the denial of our feminine spirit as we try to integrate and compete with men (and each other!) for our place in the world. Accepting Yourself Exactly As You Are
Regardless of what you were taught to believe...There is Nothing Wrong with You-Cheri Huber Cheri Huber's amazing, profound and essential guide to going beyond self-hate and accepting ourselves exactly as we are came into my life like when I needed a lifeline. I was suffering. I felt hollow and empty and grief-stricken. I didn't recognize myself anymore. I reached for Cheri's book, purchased at the suggestion of a therapist, who thankfully saw me before I could see myself. Everything changed for me that day. Everything. It was right there in those pages. By clearing learned conditioning, finding compassion and self-acceptance, and undertaking the necessary awareness work, rebirth is possible. I clung to this as I did the work, wondering what a rebirth might feel like...and then it happened. I was reborn into love, acceptance, compassion...and freedom

Do you hurt when others hurt? Do you feel sympathy and concern for the misfortunes and suffering of others? Are you compelled to use your gifts to help lift others up and clear a path for healing and opportunity? You are compassionate. Your ability to show compassion for other beings allows you to care for others and to be cared for when your turn comes around. But, compassion is not drawn from an endless well. It is possible to give so much that your well runs dry and you experience at best, compassion fatigue, and at worst the loss of your own well-being and potentially our life. Rest and rejuvenation can prop you back up, but if you do not turn your compassion toward yourself, you are likely to be drawn into the same cycle of giving to exhaustion. Filling yourself first and giving of the excess is often the opposite of what we are taught, to give first and subsist on what is left. Cultivating and practicing unconditional compassion for yourself, can disrupt this pattern and ultimately protect your mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health by shoring you up first. You can then give freely and joyously of what remains.

Life, Death and Compassion

Unschooling
Preschool, kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, high school. For many of us, these are a given. The process by which we are educated, socialized and prepared to participate in society as productive, employable adults. We are schooled. So, what happens when children are unschooled? What happens when they are given the freedom to sleep when they are tired, direct their own learning, spend time on whatever interests them, and to play as much as they choose? What happens when play, curiosity, solitude and self-regulation are prioritized in the same way paying attention in class, test scores and completed assignments are for the schooled? Join me for a fascinating glimpse into one family’s experience with the practice unschooling. I came away thinking... it’s not just for kids!

The Idealized Image

Conversations with Your Inner Critic
Does your Inner Critic have a lot to say? You’re not alone! Your Inner Critic takes its job seriously and shows up to remind you that you’re not good enough, you didn’t do it right, you should have said something different, you need to do better, be better and work harder. We’ll discuss the Inner Critic’s origin and its role in addiction, relapse, and recovery, and offer tips and practices for freeing yourself from its influence.
